Human Resources

At CFOL, Human Resource staff play a key role in coordinating and administering programs that relate to the recruitment, development, and retention of staff. More specifically, Human Resource staff may be responsible for performing the following functions:

  • Assist with the hiring and orientation of new staff.
  • Ensure performance reviews are completed on an annual basis for each employee.
  • Communicate information to staff on HR related programs.
  • Develop and recommend policies and procedures.
  • Administer the benefit and savings plan programs.
  • Prepare reports for management and external parties.
  • Process payroll and prepare remittances for the government and benefit providers.
  • Capture employee data and monitor the performance of the HRIS.
  • Maintain the HR and payroll files.
  • Research and make recommendations on competitive compensation programs.
  • Organize and source training and development opportunities for staff.
  • Organize employee events for the company.

Human Resources staff generally require a Bachelor’s degree and previous experience in an oil and gas company has been considered an asset. Human Resources staff must also be skilled in analyzing, planning, organizing, interpersonal communication, problem solving, decision making, customer service, and building relationships.

Human Resources staff in this role work closely with other team members in the office.
