Engineer
At CFOL, Reservoir
Engineers play a key role in ensuring
that all oil and gas properties (operated and
non-operated) are efficiently developed and
produced for maximum profitability. More specifically,
an Engineer may be responsible for performing
the following functions:
- Prepare reserve estimates,
production forecasts, and other engineering
analysis/evaluation or models as required.
- Provide recommendations
on exploration, development, work overs, property
sales, acquisitions, and abandonment projects.
- Coordinate reservoir
activities with the department manager and
other department staff.
- Work with other departments
to ensure processes are efficient and meeting
internal standards.
- Assist in the development
of, implement, and optimally utilize the reservoir
management portions of the business plan and
budget.
- Continually monitor
actual well performance compared to the forecast
and report on changes. Recommend remedial
action if required.
- Develop and maintain
an accurate and current reservoir engineering
database.
- Keep informed of industry
activity and communicate this activity to
others in the organization as required.
- Maintain a high degree
of technical excellence within the required
skills in order to ensure that the best and
most cost-effective technical ideas and methods
are being used.
Reservoir Engineers generally
require a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
and experience in exploration, development,
and production has been considered an asset.
Engineers must also be skilled in achieving
results, analysis, problem solving, decision-making,
planning, organizing, and building relationships.
An Engineer in this role
works closely with other team members in the
office. Depending on the position, an Engineer
may be required to be on-call or attend to emergencies
that occur outside of regular office hours. |
